Use of EO data to calculate severe weather thresholds
JNCC needs to develop a method using Earth Observation or other public data to identify frozen ground and snow cover at specific locations for their Severe Weather Scheme, which restricts shooting during harsh conditions to protect vulnerable birds. The work involves exploring available datasets, testing different approaches, and validating the accuracy and robustness of the chosen method.
